Pedal Power is a community-managed e-cycle rental program anchored by Malleswam Social, Malleswaram Swabhima Initiative and Sampige Foundation to encourage cycling in Malleswaram. The 20 e-cycles for this program have been provided by the Green Urban Mobility Innovation Living Lab to the Malleswaram Community.

A nominal fee will be charged for renting the bicycles, and all the profits generated will be fed back to support and scale the project. By enabling month-long rentals, renters get a full experience of owning and using a cycle as part of their daily life, be it to go to university, work, get groceries or ride around for fun. We hope everyone treats the cycles with care and respect to help sustain the programme over time.

The choice of e-cycle is intentional to help overcome Malleswaram's undulating topography and assist with long-distance rides.
